Engineering Future Scholarships are available from the University of Manchester’s School of Engineering to academically excellent international applicants starting postgraduate courses in September 2023.
Students from South Asia, South East Asia, or Africa who wish to pursue a postgraduate degree at the School of Engineering are eligible for this award.

Interesting Facts About University of Manchester
The University of Manchester Faculty of Science and Engineering (FSE) is one of three faculties that make up the university in northern England. The Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences was founded in October 2004 and was previously known as the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences.
After the demise of the Faculty of Life Sciences and the merger of some areas of life sciences into the departments of Chemistry and Earth and Environmental Sciences, it was renamed in 2016. Chemical Engineering and Analytical Science; Chemistry; Computer Science; Earth and Environmental Sciences; Physics and Astronomy; Electrical & Electronic Engineering; Materials; Mathematics; and Mechanical, Aerospace, and Civil Engineering are the two schools (School of Engineering and School of Natural Sciences) that make up the university.
Most former UMIST departments are now part of the Faculty of Biology, Medicine, and Health, with the exceptions of Optometry and Neurosciences (now part of the Faculty of Biology, Medicine, and Health), Manchester School of Management (now part of Manchester Business School MBS), and a portion of the Department of Computation that was split between the School of Computer Science and MBS.
Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics departments were united, while Materials Science was already a joint department. In terms of total staff and student numbers, the faculty outnumbers the entire University of Manchester School of Technology (UMIST), which was known until 1993 as the Victoria University of Manchester Faculty of Technology (paradoxically at the same time as being an independent institution). The faculty offices are located in the former UMIST Main Building, the Sackville Street Building.

Professor John Perkins, who joined the new institution in 2004, was the first Dean of the Faculty. Professor Perkins was Principal of the Faculty of Engineering and Courtaulds Professor of Chemical Engineering at Imperial College London prior to his appointment as Dean of EPS.
Prof Colin Bailey, the head of the School of Mechanical, Aerospace, and Civil Engineering, succeeded him in 2009. In May 2009, Bailey took over as acting dean after Perkins left to become provost of the Masdar Institute of Science and Technology, and in December of same year, he was confirmed as Dean. In 2015, he was replaced by Chemist Martin Schröder, the current dean. The name was changed to the Faculty of Science and Engineering in April 2016.

- Hold an offer for a master’s level full-time course in September 2023 within The Faculty of Science and Engineering.
- Be fully registered for your chosen course by the registration deadline.
- Be self-funding (for example, not sponsored) your course and classified as an international candidate for tuition fee purposes.
