This endowed fund awards one scholarship per year, in perpetuity, to deserving candidates from Arab countries in the Middle East who are devoted to a career in the region.
The Jacques Nasser Scholarship Fund for Leadership at INSEAD was created in 2004 with the generous support Jacques Nasser, Former CEO of the Ford Motor Company. scholarship wishes to encourage and support students who aspire to return to the Middle East after the MBA programme and become leaders in the region.
Jacques A. Nasser AC is a philanthropist and business executive from Lebanon, Australia, and the United States. From 1999 to 2001, he served as the CEO and president of Ford Motor Company, a career that spanned several decades and continents. He later became a partner at JPMorgan’s One Equity Partners and served on the boards of British Sky Broadcasting and Brambles Limited. Nasser was also a member of Allianz Aktiengeselischaft’s international advisory council and Chairman of BHP Billiton, an Australian mining firm, from 2010 to 2017. In a 2012 list of the “most powerful people in Australian boardrooms,” Smart Company named Nasser No. 6 on the list.
Nasser is now a member of the boards of directors of Koç Holding and Fox Corporation, where he serves as the latter’s lead independent director and head of the pay committee. He is also a member of Altimetrik’s advisory board and the Great Barrier Reef Foundation’s chairman’s panel. Nasser is a member of the National Order of the Cedar in Lebanon and the Order of Australia, and he supports a variety of scholarship programmes. Nasser was also honoured with the Ellis Island Medal of Honor, which honours immigrants’ achievements to America. He was named a Companion of the Order of Australia in 2017.

To qualify for INSEAD Jacques Nasser Endowed Leadership Scholarship, candidate must fulfill all of the following requirements below:

- Candidates who are citizens of an Arab country in the Middle East (including Egypt) or whose parents are/were citizens of one of these countries.
