QUT Womens Scholar Awards, Australia 2022-23

The QUT Women in Science, Mathematics, and IT Merit Scholarship was created by Queensland University of Technology for the academic year 2022–2023 to assist high-achieving female students who are beginning their first year of an undergraduate degree in science, mathematics, or IT.

This QUT scholarship has been created specifically for female students who want to study at QUT for a bachelor’s degree in science, math, or information technology. Students with an ATAR of 90.0 or higher who identify as Australian or New Zealanders may be given consideration. The chosen individuals will get up to $10,000 in compensation.

    Brisbane, Queensland, Australia’s major coastal metropolis of Brisbane is home to the public research institution known as Queensland University of Technology (QUT). Gardens Point and Kelvin Grove are the two Brisbane-area campuses where QUT is situated.

    The Queensland Institute of Technology (QIT) was transformed into a university in 1989 by the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) Act 1988, and the ensuing Queensland University of Technology (QUT) began operations in January 1989. This is how the university now exists. Brisbane College of Advanced Education and QUT joined in 1990.

    In 2020, QUT will have 52,672 students enrolled (including 39,156 undergraduate, 10,390 graduate, and 661 non-award students), 5,049 full-time equivalent (FTE) staff people working there, $1.054 billion in total income, and $1.028 billion in total expenditures.

    On September 28, 2018, QUT ceased its membership in the Australian Technology Network of institutions.

    The Times Higher Education World Institution Rankings named QUT the finest university in Australia for students under the age of 50 in their Top 100 Under 50 Years World Young University Rankings category in 2013. QUT was rated first in Australia and 26th globally in that category.

    The Times Higher Education World University Rankings placed it second in Australia both times and ranked it 28th globally in the THE Top 150 Under 50 Years World Young University Rankings category in 2016 and 24th globally in the THE Top 200 Under 50 Years World Young University Rankings category in 2017.

    According to the THE Top 250 Under 50 years World Young University Rankings for 2018, QUT is rated 20th overall. In both the 2019 and 2020 QS Top 50 Under 50 years World Young University Rankings, QUT is rated 19th overall.

    • Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following/given criteria:
    • The applicants must have completed Year 12 (or a gap year) in 2022.
    • The applicants must be starting university for the first time in 2023.
    • The applicants must identify as female.
    • The applicants must be Australian or New Zealand citizens, permanent residents, or hold a permanent humanitarian visa.
    • The applicants must have achieved a minimum ATAR of 90.0 or above.
    • The applicants must have placed QUT as their first preference.

    How to Apply

    • How to Apply: Students must first make an admission application for their desired bachelor degree programme at QUT. Students who complete a QTAC application will be considered for the scholarship.
    • Supporting Documents: The students must provide documents to prove that they have completed year 12.
    • Admission Requirements: The applicants must have completed Year 12 with an ATAR, or have a completed International Baccalaureate or have completed Year 12 with a vocational education and training (VET) qualification completed at school (certificate IV and above)
    • Language Requirement: The students must submit scores of the following English language proficiency tests:
    • IELTS (Academic)
    • TOEFL iBT (Internet-based)
    • Pearson Test of English (PTE Academic)
    • Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE)
    • Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE)

    Benefits

    The applicants selected will be provided $7,500 to $10,000, as mentioned below, to conduct their bachelor’s study at the Queensland University of Technology.

    • Scholarships valued at $7,500 paid over three years for an eligible bachelor’s degree in the Faculty of Science
    • Scholarships valued at $10,000 paid over four years for an eligible major in the Bachelor of Science Advanced (Honours).
