Semper Solaris participates in a variety of charitable projects and collaborates with organisations like Warrior Foundation Freedom Station to provide veterans in need with free solar energy. The growth of solar energy depends on students, hence Semper Solaris wants to provide several chances for scholarships to students who can contribute original ideas to the field.
Since 2019, Semper Solaris has conducted competitions for students who are interested in renewable energy, giving away over $10,000 in total prizes each year!
We will give away more than $20,000 to student winners this year (2022), including top awards at $3,000 for college students.

More About Semper Solaris
Kelly Shawhan and John Almond established Semper Solaris Construction, Inc. in 2012 as a home solar power installation business with headquarters in San Diego, California. The business is well renowned for its strategy of employing former Marines in the solar sector and for emphasising American culture in its marketing.
John Almond, who founded Semper Solaris, had previously worked in the construction industry but had shifted his attention to solar energy after starting the firm. Kelly Shawhan, a co-founder, was stated to have been involved in solar energy since 1989. Kelly Shawhan was once a captain in the US Marine Corps.
The Marine Corps’ motto “semper fidelis” and an oath Shawhan took with 12 other Marines in the Philippines in 1985 were reportedly the inspirations for the company’s name.
The business installed a total of 0.400 megawatts in 2015, up from 0.200 in 2014, according to reports. SunPower, a solar energy company, named the business “Residential National Dealer of the Year” in 2015.
Three Semper Solaris personnel came to their aid in 2016 when a blazing box truck that had crossed over the centre line of Route 163 and onto Route 305 in San Diego County was being driven by two passengers. Employees of Semper Solaris were given a “Special Commendation” by the San Diego mayor’s office.
A workplace culture based on the ideals of the aforementioned military cultures has developed as a result of the firm’s reputation for recruiting former Marines and members of the US Military. Ex-convict hiring at Homeboy Industries has been connected to the company’s “Solar Panel Training Program.”
Semper Solaris has charted Solar Power World’s Top Solar Contractors list for four years.
According to Jawad Khan of Business.com’s marketing magazine, the company’s support of local companies, the military, and American-made goods is a unique viewpoint in internet marketing. Khan said that for some audiences, the company’s expression of values would be effective. The dealer received acclaim in 2013 from Joseph Calack of the technical publication RF Cafe for its open selling of a photovoltaic Sun Power solar system.
