The National College of Ireland (NCI), also known as Colรกiste Nรกisinta na hร‰ireann (CNร‰) in Irish, is a state-funded, not-for-profit third-level education institution in Dublin. It was initially known as the Catholic Workers College, Dublin, and was created in 1951 as a collaborative effort between Irish Jesuits and Irish Trade Unions.

It is now an independent institution that offers full and part-time undergraduate and postgraduate studies in subjects such as psychology, finance, business, and computing. The courses are taught at the IFSC campus in Dublin and at a number of regional locations.

There are also a number of professional development programmes available. The collegeโ€™s website has a complete list. A number of the collegeโ€™s programmes were recognised by the stateโ€™s National Council for Educational Awards (NCEA), the forerunner of HETAC, in 1976.

In 1998, the National College of Ireland (NCI) was re-branded as the National College of Ireland (NCI), with a larger National Campus Network and a variety of outreach programmes around the country.

The land and buildings at Sandford Road were given to the NCI Board of Management by the Jesuits as the NCI grew.

The Irish governmentโ€™s Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) has certified the collegeโ€™s Higher Certificate, Bachelor, Higher Diploma, and Master degrees; however, a number of other short-term courses are unaccredited.

NCI moved to a 0.8-hectare property on Mayor Street in the Dublin Docklands at the turn of the century. The creation of a modern campus, with 53 residential units for 286 students and a new Business and Research Building, was made possible through a โ‚ฌ25,000,000 fundraising drive.

In 2009 and 2010, the college hosted the Insight Debate Series, a free debate series organised in collaboration with The Irish Times and Newstalk 106-108 FM radio station. Public figures such as Ben Dunne, Willie Walsh, and Giovanni Trapattoni were interviewed live by a Newstalk host as part of the collegeโ€™s Legends in Your Lunchtime series.
